Underground Charge Up Operator

About the role

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is recruiting Charge Up Operators for its underground hard-rock mining operations in Western Australia, with opportunities at multiple sites. You will safely load and manage explosives in drilled headings and stopes to prepare blasts in line with blast designs, procedures and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out development and production charging activities.
• Safely and efficiently handle, transport and store explosives and blasting agents.
• Implement site blasting.
• Prepare blast holes in line with site standards to minimise misfires and optimise explosives use.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an underground mining Charge Up Operator.
• Valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences, including an Australian recognised Shotfirer's Licence and a Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
• Understanding of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
• Proof of working rights in Australia.
