Tube Fitter – Instrumentation Tubing Installation

About the role

As a Tube Fitter you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly and installation of instrument tubing systems on large‑scale energy projects. You will work closely with engineers, QA/QC inspectors and the construction management team to deliver high‑quality, safe installations.

Key responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend and shape tubes and pipes according to engineering drawings, templates or blueprints.
• Assemble tubes, fittings, flanges and connectors using appropriate techniques and tools.
• Perform brazing operations to create strong, secure connections.
• Inspect finished assemblies for defects and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of materials, measurements and any deviations from specifications.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, use PPE and comply with LOTO and Permit‑to‑Work systems.

Required profile

• Qualified Trade Certificate (Mechanical Fitter/Instrumentation/Pipefitter/Plumber).
• Prochem Installation Training and Swagelok Tubing System Training.
• RIIWHS204 Work at Heights competency (within the past 2‑3 years) and a valid Construction White Card.
• Current C‑Class Australian driver’s licence.
• Experience in live brownfield environments such as oil refineries, petro‑chemical plants, power stations or LNG facilities is advantageous.

Required skills

• Tube and pipe fabrication, cutting, bending and shaping.
• Brazing of tubing and pipe systems.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications and standards.
• Use of hand and power tools for pipefitting.
• Adherence to quality control systems and safety regulations.
