Treasury Lawyer

About the role

Macquarie Group is hiring a Treasury Lawyer for its Banking and Financial Services Treasury Legal team in Sydney. The lawyer provides dedicated legal support to the team responsible for funding the group's Banking and Financial Services operations. The position is permanent, full time and mid-senior level.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate, document and execute structured finance funding transactions, including the residential mortgage-backed securities program 'PUMA'
• Assist with the covered bond program
• Project manage the annual home loan risk reinsurance program
• Work on a wide range of other strategic initiatives

Required profile

• Fully qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years' PQE
• Currently working in debt capital markets, banking or finance law
• Background in private practice or in-house with transactional debt capital markets or banking and finance experience
• Experience with debt capital markets, structured finance (including securitisation), derivatives and/or insurance transactions is well regarded

Required skills

• Excellent organisation and stakeholder management skills, able to work collaboratively
• Strong drafting abilities with a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to work to deadlines, take ownership of projects and funding platforms, and work in a team
