Transport Manager – South Australia & Northern Territory

About the role

Lead transport operations across South Australia and the Northern Territory, ensuring safety, efficiency and alignment with national objectives. You will manage fleet performance, contractor relationships and regional logistics strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee transport activities to meet safety, legal and company standards.
• Manage fleet utilisation, contractor performance, compliance and transport rates.
• Own transport budgets, freight costs and operating expenses to achieve financial targets.
• Collaborate with Operations and Commercial teams to improve service levels, productivity and profitability.
• Track and report on safety, service delivery, fleet utilisation and contractor performance.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement efficiency enhancements.
• Travel to sites across SA and NT to support operations and build relationships.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport, logistics, mining, ports, recycling or similar heavy‑industry environments.
• Proven success leading multi‑site transport operations and teams.
• Experience managing budgets, transport costs and overall business performance.
• Commercially minded with strong negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Good understanding of transport compliance, safety requirements and operational risk.
• Ability to identify issues, find practical solutions and drive continuous improvement.
