Transmission Lines Engineer – Energy

About the role

As a Transmission Lines Engineer in Aurecon’s Queensland Energy team based in Brisbane, you will help shape the future of the energy sector by delivering state‑of‑the‑art transmission line infrastructure up to 500 kV. You will work with multidisciplinary teams and clients to create resilient, sustainable solutions for the AEMO Integrated System Plan and Renewable Energy Zones.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex transmission line design projects from concept through delivery.
• Deliver high‑quality advice that informs decision‑making and supports resilient engineering solutions.
• Apply advanced analytics and optimisation to enhance line performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical challenges.
• Contribute to the delivery of transmission infrastructure for the AEMO Integrated System Plan and Renewable Energy Zones.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification with 5+ years consulting or utilities experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Working towards CPEng and/or RPEQ (preferred).
• Strong capability in transmission line modelling and a track record of delivering practical outcomes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and support site‑based roles when required.
