Trainer & Assessor – Driver Safety (Casual, WA)

About the role

The casual Trainer and Assessor will be based on‑site at DRM's Malaga campus in Western Australia. You will deliver both accredited and non‑accredited driver safety and transport training to corporate and individual clients, following RTO standards and DRM’s training frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and adapt training materials for classroom and practical sessions.
• Facilitate delivery of driver safety and transport‑related courses.
• Assess participant competence and record outcomes in compliance with RTO requirements.
• Provide constructive, unbiased feedback to learners.
• Maintain accurate training and assessment records.
• Ensure all activities meet regulatory and organisational safety standards.
• Collaborate with the DRM team to continuously improve course content and client safety outcomes.

Required profile

• Current TAE40122 (or equivalent Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) and experience delivering competency‑based training.
• Strong knowledge of road transport, logistics, and road safety principles, with practical experience in driving, fleet operations, or transport safety.
• Heavy vehicle licence and a valid driver’s licence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse learner groups.
• Organisational abilities for lesson planning, record keeping, and RTO compliance reporting.
• Ability to work safely on‑site at Malaga, WA.
• Proficiency with basic digital tools such as learning management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in a Registered Training Organisation or similar regulated environment is highly regarded.

Required skills

• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
• Learning Management System (LMS) usage for training delivery and record management.
• Microsoft Office suite for documentation and reporting.
