Trainee Warehouse Operator

About the role

Orica is looking for a Trainee Warehouse Operator to join its team at the Kalgoorlie Explosives Reserve. This hands-on role helps receive, store and dispatch products safely while learning how magazine operations work, with support from an experienced team and training in industry-leading safety procedures. The roster is Monday to Friday 5/2, with 13 rostered Saturdays per year under the EBA.

To be considered, you must live in the Kalgoorlie region and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Key responsibilities

• Safely pick, pack, load and unload product following approved plans and procedures
• Receive, store and dispatch products and materials in line with site and safety requirements
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
• Manage inventory and stock movements, including returns and quality checks
• Use scanners and inventory systems to track stock and keep accurate records
• Work with the team and transport providers during training and continuous improvement activities

Required profile

• Experience in warehousing, inventory management, stock handling or goods movements, or a strong willingness to learn in these areas
• An interest in logistics, warehousing and inventory operations
• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Forklift Licence (LF)
• A current C Class driver's licence is advantageous
• Willingness to obtain required licences such as Security Clearance and SSAN / Dangerous Goods
• Commitment to safety, attention to detail and teamwork

Required skills

• Use of scanners and inventory systems
• Exposure to SAP or similar systems is highly regarded but not essential
