Trainee Locomotive Driver – Full Time

About the role

Aurizon’s Coppabella depot is seeking safety‑focused individuals to undertake training and become professional locomotive drivers. The role involves a 24‑hour rotating shift roster, working 365 days a year including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in a 24x7 rotating shift roster throughout the year.
• Apply theoretical knowledge from training to practical locomotive operation.
• Work in accordance with Aurizon’s safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Undertake locomotive driver training and successfully complete all required modules.

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual and committed to safety.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Current unrestricted Class C driver’s licence.
• Available to commence training in March 2027 and remain free of other commitments for the first nine months.
• Willingness to be away from home for extended training periods.
