Trade Waiter

About the role

Hurricane's Grill & Bar, located in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, is looking for a dedicated and experienced Trade Waiter to join its hospitality team. The position is full-time and permanent, with a salary of $75,000 to $85,000 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional food and beverage service while maintaining high standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction.
• Welcome guests, present menus, explain dishes and beverages and give recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Take orders accurately and deliver food and drinks promptly.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to keep orders accurate and operations smooth.
• Manage assigned dining sections, keeping tables prepared, maintained and cleared.
• Help supervise and coordinate junior waitstaff.
• Handle customer enquiries, special requests and complaints professionally.
• Process payments, operate point-of-sale systems and ensure accurate billing.
• Maintain cleanliness, food hygiene and compliance with workplace health and safety rules.
• Support opening and closing procedures, stock monitoring and preparation for busy service periods.

Required profile

• At least one year of relevant experience as a waiter or in a similar hospitality role.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service procedures and restaurant operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service approach.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while staying attentive to detail.
• Strong organisation and time management skills, able to handle several tasks during busy service.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hospitality team.
• Professional presentation, positive attitude and commitment to quality dining experiences.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
