Terminal Interface Manager

About the role

Flinders Port Holdings owns and operates Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal (FACT) and the port of Port Adelaide, as well as six regional ports, and provides supply chain and hydrographic survey services. It is looking for an experienced Terminal Interface Manager to lead landside operations at FACT, overseeing the movement of containers through landside and rail operations and working with transport operators, customers and internal teams to improve performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement in safety performance, including policies, procedures and work practices, with a focus on training, risk and hazard management and injury prevention
• Manage and optimise the Vehicle Booking System (VBS) and rail operations to maximise landside capacity, efficiency and service delivery
• Oversee the allocation and use of people, equipment and resources to meet business, operational and customer needs
• Develop, manage and monitor financial budgets and KPIs, and mitigate risks to service delivery and financial performance
• Build relationships with landside customers, transport operators and stakeholders across the South Australian supply chain
• Use operational data to find ways to improve productivity, capacity and efficiency

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, shipping or warehousing, transport and container logistics
• Leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
• Understanding of regulatory requirements, including biosecurity and Australian Border Force processes
• Relevant qualifications in leadership, business, logistics or supply chain management, or equivalent industry experience
• Current driver's licence and ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC); a pre-employment medical assessment (including drug and alcohol screening) is required
• Right to work in Australia
