Teppanyaki Chef (Sous Chef)

About the role

Kabuki Teppanyaki Restaurant at Stamford Plaza Brisbane, a five-star hotel on the Brisbane River, is looking for a full-time Teppanyaki Chef (Sous Chef). The restaurant offers a Japanese-style teppanyaki experience with a traditional a la carte menu, and the chef shows off the dramatic presentation of meats, seafood and vegetables.

Required profile

• Experience in teppanyaki or a strong willingness to learn this style.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Legal working rights in Australia or a current visa; applicants must be Australian residents or have visa rights to work in Australia.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences.
• Ability to build strong customer relationships and a commitment to high standards of customer service.
• Pride in personal appearance and presentation.

Required skills

• Food Safety Handling Certificate (SITXFSA005 or SITXFSA006), or willingness to obtain one.
• Knowledge of how to interact with customers and show off teppanyaki cooking skills.
