Temporary Purchasing Officer

About the role

An established manufacturer based in Yatala is looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer to support its purchasing and inventory replenishment activities. You will work closely with procurement, warehouse and manufacturing teams so that materials are available to meet operational needs. The position is based in the office five days a week, with immediate start preferred, an initial three-month contract with potential for permanency, free onsite parking and flexibility around start and finish times.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and maintain purchase orders, checking pricing, quantities, lead times and delivery requirements
• Monitor outstanding orders and follow up with local and international suppliers
• Review stock levels, forecasts and purchasing commitments to identify replenishment needs and potential shortages
• Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier and inventory information
• Coordinate incoming materials and communicate delivery changes to internal teams
• Investigate discrepancies between purchase orders, goods received and supplier invoices

Required profile

• At least three years of experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory replenishment
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution or a similar inventory-focused environment
• Confidence coordinating international suppliers and managing changing lead times
• Strong organisation skills and ability to manage competing priorities

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel
• MYOB, ideally MYOB Acumatica
• Exposure to Netstock is advantageous
