Telehealth General Practitioner – Remote (Western Australia)

About the role

Alternaleaf is seeking experienced, AHPRA‑registered General Practitioners to join its telehealth team. This fully remote position serves patients across Western Australia, primarily during late afternoons and evenings (3 pm–9 pm WA time). Doctors will provide evidence‑based consultations to a diverse patient cohort using digital tools.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality telehealth consultations and manage clinical assessments.
• Prescribe Schedule 4 and Schedule 8 medications in compliance with WA regulations.
• Conduct follow‑up consults and coordinate care with nurses and support staff.
• Maintain complete, compliant documentation in a digital‑first environment.
• Utilise telehealth platforms and electronic medical records to optimise patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Fellowship with RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent specialist GP qualification.
• MBBS or equivalent with unrestricted AHPRA registration.
• Strong understanding of WA prescribing regulations, including Schedule 8 medications.
• Ability to manage 10‑minute consults (4–6 patients per hour) with excellent time management.
• Familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, and medico‑legal obligations.
• Reliable, punctual and collaborative attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with telehealth platforms.
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Competence in prescription management software.
