Tele-Remote Bogger Operator / Trainer

About the role

AUMS, part of the Perenti group and a specialist underground contract mining services business operating across Africa, is looking for experienced applicants to fill the role of Tele-Remote Bogger Operator/Trainer on a 6:3 roster. The successful candidate will hold Tele-remote, Guidance, MineGem or AutoMine competency and solid production and development charging experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of AutoMine systems and operate AutoMine systems
• Prepare rings for charging and charge down and up holes, and charge rises, passes and escapeways via VCR
• String rises and interpret information correctly
• Train nationals to a high standard of bogging proficiency and road maintenance
• Work in a small team within a high-speed development cycle and in a large team providing training to national personnel

Required profile

• Tele-remote, Guidance, MineGem or AutoMine competency
• Solid production and development charging experience
• Dangerous goods certification and shot firing licence
• High-level competence on large underground LHDs, including CAT R2900 and Sandvik LH621 loaders (iSeries)
• Ability to work in both small and large teams, with a proactive safety attitude and driven work ethic
• Full pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing; site-specific clearances, National Police Clearance and required tickets or qualifications at interview
• Vaccinations required when working in Africa
