Technical Support Tradesperson (Spanish-speaking)

About the role

JBS Australia is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Technical Support Tradesperson for its Maintenance team at the Dinmore facility, near Ipswich, Queensland. The role supports the onboarding, development and integration of skilled international tradespeople in the Global Talent Program, acting as a bridge between the international workforce and site operations. It reports to the Maintenance Leadership Team and involves technical communication, training, knowledge sharing and cultural integration, including language and translation support between Spanish-speaking tradespeople and site leadership. The position is initially a fixed-term contract, with possible future opportunities depending on business needs and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance trades teams and assist with fault finding and problem solving on production equipment
• Support equipment reliability and preventative maintenance programs, working with Maintenance Supervisors and production teams to minimise downtime
• Translate and interpret technical, safety and operational information between English and Spanish speakers
• Support the onboarding and integration of Spanish-speaking employees
• Help identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and support maintenance planning and scheduling
• Ensure compliance with site safety, quality and food safety standards

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Fitting & Turning or a related trade
• Fluent verbal and written communication in both English and Spanish
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, food processing or heavy industry environments
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, and the ability to work across multiple teams and cultures

Required skills

• Intermediate computer skills and the ability to learn maintenance systems
