Harvest Supervisor (Kill Floor)

About the role

JBS Australia is looking for a full-time Harvest Supervisor (Kill Floor) to join its growing Dinmore Plant, reporting directly to the Harvest Manager. The role oversees slaughter floor operations so that high-quality products are produced that meet customer expectations and all regulatory requirements, and plays a key leadership role in building a culture of food safety, product quality, workplace safety, teamwork and pride in workmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the slaughter floor, keeping compliance with customer specifications, export market requirements and regulatory standards.
• Guide and support the team so that production and quality objectives are consistently achieved.
• Promote a strong culture of food safety, animal welfare and continuous improvement.
• Work with internal stakeholders and regulatory personnel to maintain the integrity of the FSQA system.
• Support employee training and development and embed safe work practices.
• Foster a positive team environment, manage workforce requirements and lead employees in line with company values.

Required profile

• Previous experience in the meat industry is essential; previous experience in a similar leadership position is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication, delegation and interpersonal skills, with calmness in difficult situations and a strong customer service focus.
• Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of occupational health and safety and quality assurance.
• Demonstrable computer literacy, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
