Technical Officer - Environmental Health

About the role

Meander Valley Council is seeking an experienced administrator to join its Development and Regulatory Services Department as Technical Officer - Environmental Health. The officer works with Environmental Health Officers to ensure environmental health requirements are met under legislation, providing high-quality customer service to internal and external customers. The position is based at the Council's office in Westbury, about 25 minutes' drive from Launceston, and is offered on a full-time basis; applicants interested in negotiating part-time arrangements are encouraged to apply.

Required profile

• Strong administrative and customer service skills, with the ability to learn new skills quickly
• Effective time management and task prioritisation in a changing environment, with accuracy and attention to detail
• Genuine interest in Environmental Health and commitment to expanding knowledge of relevant legislation, processes and practices

Required skills

• High-level computer skills, including practical experience with the Microsoft Office suite
• Experience learning custom systems

Annual base salary is negotiated within the range of $79,504 to $86,072, plus 12% superannuation and the option to choose extra salary or extra superannuation under the Council's Enterprise Agreement 2025.
