Leidos Australia's Mission Software Systems (MSS) team delivers software, intelligence and cloud solutions for government, defence and national security customers. As Technical Lead, you will lead the technical delivery of complex software solutions into secure, standalone environments, guide multidisciplinary software and platform engineering teams and connect architecture with implementation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical planning, solution design and implementation across software uplift, platform migration, integration and deployment.
- Own the technical approach so that application, platform, security and integration work remain aligned.
- Coordinate technical readiness across build, test and production environments, including deployment dependencies, releases and transition to operational support.
- Guide adaptation of existing applications to secure environments while keeping common source code baselines and separating environment-specific configuration from core logic.
- Manage technical dependencies across applications, platforms and infrastructure services, including interfaces, identity services, object storage, artifact repositories and enterprise Git services.
- Mentor engineers delivering containerised solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, GitOps and CI/CD.
Required profile
- Australian citizenship and an active NV-2 security clearance (the role requires eligibility to obtain and maintain it).
- Experience leading software and platform engineers in complex delivery or integration environments.
- Ability to turn operational, security and business needs into clear engineering work.
- Knowledge of software architecture, APIs, authentication and single sign-on, and containerised deployment.
- Experience leading application and platform migrations, including technical reviews and trade-off decisions.
- Capability in technical risk assessment, documentation, decision management and communication with project leadership.
- Advantageous: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines and secure software delivery in restricted or disconnected environments.
What we offer
- Flexible arrangements such as Life Days, part-time, job sharing and compressed hours.
- Free access to Headspace and MeQuilibrium, plus wellness spaces.
- Over 120,000 on-demand courses and professional development.
- Work on nationally significant projects with growth opportunities.
