Technical Lead - Mobile (React Native)

About the role

SS&C GIDS, part of SS&C, is looking for a highly experienced Mobile Technical Lead to lead its mobile team and drive engineering best practice across mobile applications. The role provides technical leadership to a team of mobile software developers and owns the end-to-end delivery of large-scale mobile application projects on the company's digital platform. It is a full-time hybrid position based in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor mobile software engineers and provide technical guidance so projects are delivered successfully
• Oversee end-to-end mobile app development, ensuring high-quality, scalable and robust solutions
• Develop and execute technical strategies aligned with business objectives, and evaluate and recommend technology stacks, tools and frameworks
• Assess other systems in the organisation and recommend integrations, keeping up with industry trends and emerging technologies
• Contribute to internal and external discussions on software engineering and solution delivery, for example through blog posts and knowledge articles
• Manage project timelines, resources and deliverables, and work with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs
• Keep stakeholders informed on project progress and ensure compliance obligations are met with appropriate controls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of experience in mobile or cross-platform app development
• At least 2 years in technical leadership roles
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of successful project delivery
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Required skills

• React Native, TypeScript, JavaScript and software engineering principles
• Test automation frameworks and Expo
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Agile development methodology
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices; AI knowledge (machine learning, NLP) is highly regarded but not mandatory
