Technical Director - Water Treatment

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director to lead water treatment projects across municipal potable water systems in Australia and New Zealand. The role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and mentorship within a high‑performing, diverse team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on municipal potable water projects, delivering innovative water‑treatment solutions.
• Grow the ANZ water portfolio through client engagement, opportunity development and successful project pursuits.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners and stakeholders, representing AECOM’s water‑treatment capabilities.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams on major water‑treatment projects to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
• Mentor engineers, attract top talent and expand the water‑treatment capability within the organization.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (CPEng and/or RPEQ/RPEV highly regarded).
• 12+ years of experience in water‑treatment engineering with proven technical leadership.
• Strong understanding of municipal potable water projects and ability to guide complex initiatives.
• Established market presence and ability to build trusted client relationships.
• Collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring teams.
