Technical Director – Wastewater Treatment

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Technical Director to lead wastewater treatment plant design within its Water Infrastructure group in South‑East Queensland. The role offers networking across Australia, New Zealand and globally, fostering professional growth and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and develop team members, building capability and a culture of learning.
• Design wastewater treatment systems for liquid and solid waste streams, including optioneering, concept and detailed design.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (essential); CPEng and/or RPEQ highly regarded.
• 12+ years experience in wastewater treatment at senior or technical leadership level.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills with a client‑centric approach.

Required skills

• Wastewater treatment plant design.
• Understanding of treatment processes and ANZ regulations.
• Optioneering and concept design.
