Technical Director – Urban Development

About the role

Our Gold Coast Urban Development division is seeking an experienced Associate Technical Director or Technical Director to lead delivery, technical governance, and project management of civil land development projects. You will provide strategic and technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects meet design intent, client objectives, regulatory requirements and commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of urban development projects from concept through construction support.
• Manage project scope, programme, budget and risk to achieve successful commercial and technical outcomes.
• Oversee delivery across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with business and client objectives.
• Provide technical oversight and review of civil engineering designs, ensuring compliance with standards, approvals and best practice.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (civil, drainage, transport, environmental and external consultants) to deliver integrated outcomes.
• Act as primary client contact, delivering trusted technical and strategic advice and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; RPEQ (or eligibility) strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience delivering urban or land development projects in a design and project leadership capacity.
• Strong understanding of project management principles, design standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead technical review processes and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, report writing and commercial awareness.
