Technical Business Analyst - Payments

About the role

The Banking and Financial Services Payments team at Macquarie delivers the technology and payment capabilities that help customers across Consumer, Business and Wealth Banking move money securely and efficiently. As a Payments Business Analyst you will act as the link between business stakeholders, product teams and engineers, shaping and delivering payment initiatives across the banking platforms. The role works across the full payment lifecycle, supporting solution design, testing, change readiness and continuous improvement, and uses modern AI-enabled practices to improve analysis, collaboration and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and translate business needs into clear requirements so solutions align with customer outcomes, regulatory obligations and operational objectives
• Support solution design, testing, change readiness and continuous improvement
• Use AI-enabled practices to enhance analysis, collaboration and delivery outcomes

Required profile

• 3+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, with exposure to payments, banking or financial services environments
• Strong understanding of payment processes and customer journeys
• Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements, facilitating workshops, mapping processes and turning complex problems into actionable outcomes for delivery teams
• Knowledge of Australian payment systems and industry standards, including real-time payments, direct entry payments, bill payments and payment messaging frameworks
• Experience interpreting data, identifying risks and opportunities, and working in agile delivery environments
