Technical Apprentice - Civil

About the role

AECOM is recruiting a Technical Apprentice in Civil for its Bridges, Structures and Ports Team in Sydney. The apprentice helps deliver engineering design projects while studying a Diploma of Civil Construction Design (or equivalent) at TAFE. AECOM covers the cost of the studies and gives a paid day off to attend classes. The role suits a motivated, eager learner with a positive attitude.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in producing 2D drawings and 3D models for bridges, structures, ports, transport infrastructure and civil works.
• Support the development and coordination of Digital Engineering models using AutoCAD, Revit and other Autodesk tools.
• Build technical drafting, modelling and checking skills to project standards and quality requirements.
• Liaise with engineers, designers and project teams to support timely project delivery.
• Gain exposure to structures, bridges, ports and civil engineering.
• Contribute to project documentation, visualisations and Digital Engineering deliverables.

Required profile

• Interest in engineering, drafting and Digital Engineering, and strong interest in 3D modelling and technical drawing.
• Eager to learn through practical experience and formal study.
• Enthusiastic, proactive and able to work collaboratively in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: high school results in Math and Physics, Year 12 completed or graduating, and basic AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills.
