Technical Administrative Assistant (WOWU)

About the role

The ALS Geochemistry business stream in Stafford, Brisbane, is seeking a full-time Technical Administrative Assistant (WOWU) to support the operations of a fast-paced minerals preparation and analytical laboratory. The main function is data entry using the company's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), with other duties as required. Applicants may be stationed at either the Stafford or Zillmere site depending on business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Data entry into the LIMS
• Collect, interpret and manage data efficiently and accurately
• Perform a range of entry-level tasks, with the scope increasing with experience
• Work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Required profile

• Citizen or permanent resident of the country of application, or able to obtain a valid working visa
• Experience in a geochemistry laboratory environment is advantageous
• Geology, Chemistry or Earth Science qualification desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication, organisation and time management
• Strong attention to detail and ability to retain large amounts of information
• Hands-on attitude, teamwork and flexibility with working hours as business needs dictate

Required skills

• High computer literacy, specifically Microsoft programs (training provided for internal systems)
• Ability to learn and use the in-house LIMS system
