Team Leader Youth Services

About the role

MacDonnell Regional Council is recruiting a Team Leader Youth Services for multiple remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. The role uses skills in youth team leadership, program delivery and community development to empower young people, strengthen local capacity and encourage lasting positive change. It is a fixed-term full-time position funded through to December 2026, with a two-year funding renewal confirmed.

Required profile

• Certificate-level qualification or relevant experience
• Current NT driver's licence
• Current NT Working with Children's Check (Ochre Card)
• Satisfactory criminal history check
• First aid certificate or ability to obtain one, and 4WD certificate or ability to obtain one
• Experience in cross-cultural environments and living and working in a remote Aboriginal community
• Valid Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency or a valid work visa)

What we offer

• Salary starting at $83,804 per annum plus 9.5% loading on ordinary hours
• 12% employer superannuation contribution
• 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
• Christmas shutdown (3 days), 12 days personal/carer leave, 10 days cultural and ceremonial leave
• Parental leave: 8 weeks primary, 2 weeks non-primary caregiver
• Up to 15 days study leave and NAIDOC public holiday
