Team Leader - Application and Enrolments

About the role

Mater Education is looking for an experienced operational leader to lead its Application and Enrolment function at its South Brisbane campus. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will own the performance, quality and continuous improvement of the function, optimise end-to-end processes and ensure services are efficient, compliant and student-centred. The role combines people leadership, operational management, business improvement and systems expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the overall performance, quality and effectiveness of the Application and Enrolment function, turning organisational priorities into operational plans and service standards.
• Build and develop a high-performing team through coaching, performance management, workforce planning and capability development.
• Oversee the application and enrolment lifecycle and drive business process improvements, change initiatives and optimisation to improve efficiency, student conversion and the student experience.
• Act as business lead for application and enrolment systems, coordinating business analysis, user acceptance testing, implementation planning and readiness for approved changes.
• Ensure activities comply with organisational policies, funding requirements, legislative obligations and regulatory standards, and advise on complex compliance matters.
• Monitor performance, application pipelines, conversion rates, enrolment volumes and service demand, and report on them to senior stakeholders.
• Work with internal teams, DTI, system vendors and external stakeholders, and represent the function in cross-functional change projects.
• Keep student communications, resources and digital services accurate and accessible, and oversee enrolment activities for orientations, open days and recruitment events.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading an operational team or function, accountable for service delivery and business outcomes.
• Experience developing operational plans, service delivery models and performance measures, and leading business process improvement and change initiatives.
• Experience in workforce planning, resource allocation, team capability development and performance management.
• Experience implementing or enhancing student management systems or other enterprise business systems.
• Sound understanding of regulatory, funding and compliance requirements in vocational education or the education sector.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Education, Management, Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent education and significant relevant experience; previous RTO experience highly regarded.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with data interpretation and evidence-based decision making.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and enterprise business systems.
• Excellent written communication and reporting, and stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.

• Salary of $108,207 - $117,732 per annum plus superannuation.
