Water Industry Trainer & Assessor

About the role

Simmonds & Bristow, Australia's regional and remote water specialist and a registered training organisation, is seeking a Water Industry Trainer & Assessor to join its growing training team. The role suits experienced water industry professionals such as operators, supervisors and technical specialists who want to share their knowledge and help operators succeed. You do not need to be a career trainer.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nationally recognised training programs
• Facilitate practical, workplace-based and classroom learning
• Conduct assessments and support learners
• Develop and improve training resources
• Work with utilities, councils and industry clients and travel to client sites across Australia
• Support continuous improvement and quality outcomes within the RTO

Required profile

• Hands-on experience in water and wastewater operations, networks and distribution, dams and bulk water, or irrigation and rural water
• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or equivalent
• Significant experience within the water industry
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly
• Desirable: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or equivalent)
• Desirable: hydrographic/hydrometric monitoring, flood warning systems, groundwater monitoring and advanced water resource operations

Required skills

• Water and wastewater operations, including SCADA systems
• Water and wastewater networks, pump stations and operational maintenance
• Dam operations, catchment management and bulk water systems
• Irrigation schemes, channels, regulators and water delivery systems
