About the role

The university seeks a teaching‑focused academic to deliver high‑quality learning in Construction Management, with a special emphasis on Quantity Surveying. The role involves curriculum development, student support, and engagement with professional accreditation bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver learning activities in Quantity Surveying and related commercial construction practice.
• Assess student work, provide feedback, and support moderation processes.
• Contribute to unit coordination, curriculum renewal, and continuous improvement of teaching resources.
• Maintain professional currency and undertake scholarship of teaching and learning.
• Build relationships with industry, employers, and professional bodies to enhance curriculum relevance and student career readiness.

Required profile

• PhD in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Economics, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional or industry experience with eligibility or alignment to AIQS membership.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging higher‑education teaching and support student learning.
• Strong understanding of contemporary pedagogy and curriculum development.
• Commitment to inclusive education, student support and collegial team culture.

Required skills

• Quantity Surveying expertise, including measurement, estimating, cost planning, construction economics and procurement.
• Knowledge of AIQS, AIB, CIOB and RICS accreditation processes.
