Manager, Technical Assurance

About the role

The Manager, Technical Assurance provides authoritative technical leadership for tram infrastructure projects across the Department, working with internal teams, franchisees and external stakeholders. This role ensures safe, reliable and high‑quality public transport outcomes by overseeing technical and operational risks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical management, assurance and coordination for tram track, overhead, civil structures and traction power projects.
• Provide strategic advice on complex issues and support delivery of infrastructure renewals.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships, negotiate and influence at executive level.
• Lead a high‑performing, inclusive team in a dynamic environment.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience overseeing delivery and management of assets or projects in a public transport environment.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and overcome communication barriers.
• Strategic thinker with strong problem‑solving skills at senior government levels.
• Effective influencer and negotiator with experience developing long‑term stakeholder strategies.
