Teacher – Senior College (General Mathematics & English)

About the role

TAFE Queensland is seeking experienced teachers to deliver the QCAA Senior Curriculum for Years 11 and 12 in General Mathematics and/or General English. The role is temporary, part‑time (0.57 FTE) and runs until 11 December 2026, primarily based at the Alexandra Hills campus.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and model a safety‑first culture across all learning environments.
• Plan, deliver and assess curriculum content for Years 11‑12 in General Mathematics and/or General English.
• Utilise blended, flexible and inclusive teaching methods for classroom, workplace, simulated and online settings.
• Develop assessment tools that meet Queensland College of Teaching standards and participate in validation and moderation activities.
• Build collaborative relationships with students, industry partners and staff through meetings, events and feedback loops.
• Ensure students follow safety procedures and sustainability practices during learning and assessment.
• Contribute to the design, implementation and review of educational programs.
• Engage in professional learning to maintain current industry and pedagogical knowledge.
• Perform general administration duties such as monitoring attendance and student progression.

Required profile

• Demonstrated teaching competence with a student‑centred approach.
• Ability to work safely and promote a culture of safety.
• Experience developing and moderating assessments aligned with Queensland teaching standards.
• Capability to engage diverse student cohorts, including those with priority needs.
• Strong collaborative skills for working with staff, industry groups and student communities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
