Tax Manager – Private & Family Business

About the role

Slomoi Immerman Partners is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax consulting for private and family business clients in Melbourne. This hands‑on, manager‑level position offers the chance to work closely with senior Taxation Directors while developing junior staff and deepening technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Manage tax consulting and advisory engagements for private and family business clients.
• Prepare practical, commercial advice on tax structuring, transactions, and direct/indirect tax matters.
• Support Australian Tax Office (ATO) engagement and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with Taxation Directors, clients, referrers, and the broader SIP team.
• Coach junior team members and uphold strong technical standards across the practice.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, law or a related discipline.
• CA, CPA or CTA qualification preferred.
• 6+ years of tax consulting experience in a professional services environment.
• Proven ability to work with private and family business clients.
• Collaborative mindset with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Valid working rights in Australia.
