Tax Accountant

About the role

Alpha TaxAcct, an outsourcing provider of accounting, taxation, bookkeeping and compliance support, is looking for an experienced Tax Accountant with strong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting practices. The position is full-time and on-site, and requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, year-end workpapers and general ledger reviews.
• Prepare individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns.
• Assist with BAS/IAS preparation and related tax compliance activities.
• Handle FBT, Division 7A and PAYG reconciliations.
• Perform bank, account and other financial reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation, and review accounting information for completeness and accuracy.
• Meet deadlines while maintaining quality and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting and taxation experience.
• Good knowledge of Australian bookkeeping, accounting and taxation.
• Practical experience preparing financial statements and tax returns.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• BAS/IAS preparation, FBT and Division 7A.
• Accounting software: Xero, MYOB, HowNow and Business Fitness workpapers.
