Tax Accountant

About the role

The client is a fast‑growing financial lifestyle firm in Melbourne, looking for a Tax Accountant to join their accounting and tax arm. You will work alongside the existing accountant and directors, handling client accounting work and supporting internal finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual and small business tax returns and conduct client tax return meetings
• Support client bookkeeping, reconciliations, BAS, GST and general compliance
• Prepare financial reports, management reporting, budgets and forecasts
• Contribute to internal finance operations, including accounts payable/receivable and record keeping
• Provide proactive tax planning and help improve templates, systems and processes as the practice grows

Required profile

• Accounting experience in public practice or professional services
• Confidence communicating with clients and explaining concepts simply
• Strong attention to detail, good organisation and a proactive, eager‑to‑learn attitude
• CA or CPA qualified, or working towards qualification
