Surgical Veterinary Nurse (Part‑Time) – Port Macquarie

About the role

Greencross Port Macquarie is seeking an experienced Surgical Veterinary Nurse for a part‑time or casual position. The role offers hands‑on theatre work, high clinical standards and the chance to work in a supportive coastal hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare surgical patients and provide theatre support.
• Monitor anaesthesia and oversee patient recovery.
• Assist veterinarians during procedures and surgeries.
• Perform dental procedures and dental radiography.
• Collect and process pathology samples.
• Administer medications and treatments, and provide inpatient care.
• Maintain infection control and theatre cleanliness.
• Educate and support clients throughout treatment.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Confident and experienced in surgical nursing.
• Strong anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery skills.
• Ability to work in a busy hospital environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and team player.
