Support Worker (Disability) – Community Care

About the role

A2Z Recruitment Solutions is recruiting a Support Worker (Disability) to support the individual needs of frail, aged and disabled people accessing its Community Care Services. The aim is to help clients stay living independently at home through domestic assistance, personal care and community access.

Key responsibilities

• Assess care plans and make sure residents' needs are met
• Deliver all services (food, laundry, personal care, domestic and interest) in a timely and safe way
• Provide personal care such as toileting and showering with dignity and respect
• Carry out housekeeping: dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, emptying bins, fridges and freezers as set out in each client's care plan
• Wash, hang out to dry, fold and iron clothing, and change bed linen as required
• Assist with showering, bathing, medications, eating, toileting and grooming
• Administer medication and provide manual handling support (desirable)

Required profile

• Current unrestricted driver's licence
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Working with Children and Criminal Record Check clearance (required)
• Prior experience supporting ageing clients in the community is highly regarded
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their care plans
• Good communication skills with carers, families and advocates
