Support Coordinator - Cairns

About the role

selectability is hiring a Support Coordinator for a casual position based in Cairns. The role works closely with participants to help them navigate the NDIS and get the most out of their plans, supporting them to make their own choices about how to live their lives.

Key responsibilities

• Support and empower participants to make their own choices about how they want to lead their lives
• Coordinate a variety of services so participants can live fulfilling lives within the community
• Engage with and manage key stakeholders such as government agencies, community and clinical service providers and families, making sure supports are not duplicated
• Work with participants to strengthen their ability to coordinate their own supports

Required profile

• Working knowledge of the NDIS (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to best practice
• Experience working in a team environment
• Ability to engage recipients quickly and effectively
• Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
• Travel to selectability sites may be required

Required skills

• Certificate IV in Mental Health (desirable)
• Current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's licence, with a roadworthy and fully insured vehicle
• Nationally recognised First Aid and CPR certificates (ability to obtain)
• Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
