Supplier Assurance Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Supplier Assurance Officer to support high‑quality, compliant supply chain outcomes for Austal Defence Australia. In this role you will help ensure that suppliers meet performance, quality and regulatory requirements for major defence programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse supplier performance against agreed KPIs.
• Identify risks, trends and non‑conformances and support corrective actions.
• Assist with internal and external audits and maintain audit readiness.
• Investigate and close quality and compliance issues.
• Maintain supply chain documentation in line with QMS requirements.
• Support process governance, documentation control and compliance activities.
• Deliver supply chain process training to stakeholders.
• Liaise with procurement, quality and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Quality Management or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years experience in supply chain, procurement or quality assurance.
• Experience using ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or Oracle.
• Strong analytical, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI.
