Structural Engineer – Lead Projects from Concept to Construction

About the role

Northrop is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join its Sydney and Parramatta offices. You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, delivering technical solutions from concept through to construction across a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, health, education and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical delivery for a wide range of structural projects, including commercial buildings, residential developments, fit‑outs, aged‑care and educational facilities.
• Engage directly with clients, attend meetings and site inspections, and ensure projects meet budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Assist with project costings, monitor performance, and support business development through proposal preparation.
• Mentor graduates and undergraduates and contribute to the technical development of the structural team.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience as a structural engineering consultant in the Australian market.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage project finances and drive goals to completion.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ETABS.
• Knowledge of RC Building design.
• Experience using RAPT.
• Familiarity with SpaceGass.
