Street Sweeper Operator

About the role

Service Stream, an ASX-listed business that develops and operates essential services networks across telecommunications, utilities, transport, defence and social infrastructure, is looking for experienced Street Sweeper Operators for its Clayton team. This is a full-time role under the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement with a monthly RDO provided, covering day, afternoon and night-shift rosters. It is mostly a nightshift position, but dayshift is required when needed, including weekend on-call for emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure tools, vehicles and equipment are used correctly, kept in safe working condition and hazards and defects reported to the Team Leader
• Complete the shut-down and end-of-day cleaning process for the street sweeper
• Carry out all work with a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency
• Record works-related data in the field according to work instructions, accurately and completely
• Take part in daily pre-start and shift-close meetings and suggest improvements to work practices

Required profile

• Valid minimum MR licence and previous experience operating street sweepers
• Experience operating road sweepers on freeways and arterial roads
• Able to work with little supervision and a strong focus on worker, road user and community safety
• Self-motivated, with good time management and digital and data management skills, including familiarity with field applications for works management

Required skills

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to decipher maps
• Ability to complete paperwork and forms and perform labouring duties with hand tools
