This permanent Staff Specialist position in General Medicine is based at a major regional referral hospital in New South Wales. It offers broad clinical practice, professional autonomy and the chance to shape regional medical services.

Key responsibilities

• Providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient General Medicine services
• Managing a broad range of acute and complex medical presentations
• Providing specialist consultation and clinical advice
• Providing clinical leadership within the medical team
• Supervising junior medical officers and other healthcare professionals
• Contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education
• Participating in clinical governance and quality improvement
• Contributing to risk-management and patient-safety initiatives
• Supporting the development of contemporary, patient‑centred services
• Participating in the General Medicine on‑call roster

Required profile

• FRACP in General and Acute Care Medicine, or equivalent specialist qualification
• Specialist registration, or eligibility for specialist registration, with AHPRA
• Demonstrated experience providing high-quality General Medicine services
• Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Clinical leadership capability
• Commitment to teaching and professional education
• Commitment to clinical governance and continuous quality improvement
