Staff Software Engineer - .NET Full Stack

About the role

Bankwest is looking for a Staff Software Engineer - .NET Full Stack to lead technical work across enterprise-scale platforms in its Digital Acquisition & Engagement team. You will shape the architecture and delivery of secure, scalable digital banking experiences, working across backend services, web platforms and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and strategic leadership across enterprise platforms, influencing architecture, engineering standards and technology direction.
• Build secure, scalable distributed systems and cloud-native solutions on AWS, using microservices, event-driven and API-first approaches.
• Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD automation, containerisation, observability and quality engineering.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across product, platform and engineering teams.
• Apply emerging AI and GenAI capabilities to accelerate delivery and innovation.

Required profile

• Experience providing technical leadership and owning the full software development lifecycle.
• Deep expertise in secure, high-performance distributed systems with .NET Core and C#.
• Full-stack engineering across React, Next.js, Angular, backend services and API development.
• Ability to mentor engineers and work with AI and GenAI tools.

Required skills

• .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, serverless services (AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Temporal)
• AWS cloud engineering, microservices, event-driven and domain-driven design
• Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitHub Actions
• Observability (Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty, Splunk, logging)
• TDD, unit, integration and API testing; JMeter, Postman
• AI/GenAI tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, RAG
