Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Anduril’s Maritime Division is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the delivery of software for autonomous maritime platforms. This senior individual contributor will own end‑to‑end outcomes, from architecture through sustainment, across multiple product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Own a multi‑year, multi‑stakeholder software roadmap and ensure customer success.
• Drive architecture selection, hardware compute, storage, networking, and service orchestration for robotic systems.
• Lead teams developing on‑ and off‑platform software, including simulation and data processing.
• Partner with external teams to define interfacing requirements and create test and simulation fixtures.
• Mentor senior engineers and travel up to 20% to co‑locate with end‑users.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven leadership in a high‑performing technology organization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Required skills

• Software development in C++, Rust and/or Go.
• Frontend development using Typescript and React.
• Design and operation of horizontally scaled cloud technologies.
• Embedded software development for robotics and autonomous systems.
• Experience with modeling, simulation and high‑assurance safety‑critical software.
