Speech Pathologist - Early Start Australia Graduate Program

About the role

The Early Start Australia graduate program is a 12-month Speech Pathologist position at an APM Group clinic in Hobart. It is designed to take you from student to independent therapist, with clinical supervision, mentoring and training in a close-knit allied health team. The program includes weekly supervision, a dedicated buddy, and a supported ramp-up to managing your own caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver early intervention speech pathology services to children and families, supporting communication, participation and independence.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify speech, language and developmental needs.
• Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based therapy plans aligned with family goals.
• Work with families, caregivers and multidisciplinary teams using a key worker/transdisciplinary approach.
• Monitor, review and adapt therapy programs based on client progress and feedback.
• Educate and support families in decision-making and home-based practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports and NDIS-related records.
• Build relationships with schools, health professionals and support coordinators.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Speech Pathology.
• Membership or registration with relevant bodies (SPA).
• Current driver's license and vehicle.
• Working with Children Check or Working with Vulnerable People registration (state specific).
• NDIS workers screening check and police check.

Required skills

• Accredited first aid and CPR certificate.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Observational and report writing skills.
