Specialist Technician – Systems Engineer for School ICT Support

About the role

Bytewize is looking for senior‑level Systems Engineers / Specialist Technicians to deliver technical support to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). You will manage and maintain ICT infrastructure, support staff and students, and help create a reliable, technology‑driven learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools.
• Administer and support school networks, Windows and Linux servers, and cloud services (Google Workspace & Microsoft 365).
• Deploy and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions and 1:1/BYOD device programmes.
• Provide advanced enterprise networking support, including Cisco & HP switching and Cisco wireless controllers/APs.
• Perform SOE and image deployment, troubleshoot desktops, notebooks, and peripheral devices.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams and deliver ICT professional development and training.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level IT experience in education or comparable corporate environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem‑solving, escalation, and systematic troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia, a current driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and willingness to undergo police/background checks.

What we offer

• Salary range $90,000 – $110,000 (pro‑rata) AUD per year, top rates guaranteed.
