Spares Planner

About the role

Optus is seeking a Spares Planner to manage spare parts planning, inventory optimisation and supply continuity across a diverse portfolio of platforms. You will ensure critical spare parts are available to support operational requirements while balancing inventory investment and mitigating supply risks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular reviews of spare parts plans and execute Integrated Business Planning (IBP) activities.
• Raise Purchase Orders and Stock Transfer Orders to maintain optimal stock levels and monitor shortages.
• Lead supplier performance meetings and track metrics such as turnaround time, PO lead times and delivery performance.
• Approve Material Change Request Forms, support stocktake activities and perform last‑buy and obsolescence analyses.
• Identify process and system improvement opportunities, raise enhancement requests and participate in User Acceptance Testing.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in spares, materials, supply or demand planning.
• Strong understanding of demand planning, MRP, inventory control and procurement processes.
• Proven ability to analyse data, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a continuous‑improvement mindset.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Proficiency in SAP IBP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data‑management capabilities.
