Solicitor - Commonwealth Government Procurement

About the role

HWL Ebsworth is seeking a high-performing lawyer to join its Commonwealth Government (Procurement) team, led by Patrick Rodgers. The role suits someone who enjoys the commercial side of legal practice and wants to work with government clients on procurement processes, major tenders and bespoke contracting arrangements. You will work directly with a partner who mentors lawyers at all stages of their careers.

Key responsibilities

• Direct client contact and stakeholder engagement
• Exposure to significant government procurement and tendering projects
• Drafting, negotiating and advising on complex commercial contracts
• A high level of autonomy and responsibility

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent drafting and advice-writing skills
• Desire to develop a career in private legal practice
• Full working rights in Australia and a valid practising certificate
