Software Engineer – .NET & Angular (Contract or Permanent)

About the role

NCS Australia is looking for a versatile Software Engineer to join its Canberra, Brisbane or Melbourne teams. You will design, develop and maintain robust backend services while also creating intuitive frontend experiences, working across the full technology stack.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend web services using C#, ASP.NET, WPF and WCF.
• Build responsive frontend applications with Angular and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Own the full lifecycle of features from design through deployment and production monitoring.
• Champion Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior‑Driven Development (BDD) practices.
• Create and maintain automated test suites using Selenium, Appium and SpecFlow.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies, refine user stories and define acceptance criteria.
• Conduct peer reviews, ensure documentation quality and uphold the Definition of Done.
• Mentor junior team members and promote continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with the .NET ecosystem (C#, ASP.NET, WPF, WCF).
• Proficiency in building frontend solutions with Angular and JavaScript.
• Strong background in TDD/BDD and automated testing tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Ability to work autonomously and take end‑to‑end ownership of features.
