Software Engineer - Live Streaming Player (C++)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimise the live‑streaming player SDK that powers TikTok’s global video services. You will work on large‑scale distributed systems to deliver low‑latency, high‑quality streaming experiences for billions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Research business requirements and design efficient media‑processing pipelines within the live‑streaming player SDK.
• Optimise performance and reliability of the player to ensure seamless user experience.
• Debug and diagnose issues in production, providing rapid fixes.
• Contribute to automation testing frameworks to maintain SDK quality and stability.
• Analyse player telemetry to drive QoS/QoE improvements and validate A/B tests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 1 year of professional software development experience; 3 years preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
• Passion for self‑learning and staying current with industry trends.
