Software Engineer

About the role

As a Software Engineer at ANZ you will design, build, deploy and support customer‑facing features within the digital banking ecosystem. You will own solutions from concept through production, embracing a “you build it, you own it” mindset to deliver exceptional experiences for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate customer requirements into scalable software solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, operate and support software across the full development lifecycle.
• Take ownership of features from inception through production support and incident management.
• Contribute to automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reliability and system performance.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on service reliability.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or Cassandra.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices, quality assurance and solution design principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams and contribute positively to team culture.
